After completing a deal for Junior Messias, Genoa are hoping to complete another deal with AC Milan for a forward, namely Lorenzo Colombo.
According to today’s edition of Il Secolo XIX (via Calciomercato.com) which is a local Genovese paper, Genoa have set their sights on signing Colombo and feel that they have overcome the competition to sign him.
The 21-year-old has just returned from a loan spell at Lecce and
his future remains uncertain with suggestions a new loan spell could be agreed.
The current idea of the Genoa management is to sign him on a dry loan rather than to push for an option to buy to be included, thus respecting the Rossoneri’s desire to maintain control over the Italy U21 international.
An essential condition for the operation to go through is that in the meantime Milan must then identify a replacement for Colombo, giving Stefano Pioli a deputy to Olivier Giroud.
Colombo netted in this morning’s friendly between Milan and Serie C side Novara at Milanello with a nice volley.
