Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has revealed that he is unhappy with his situation at the club under the new manager.

The Denmark international has barely started under Ange Postecoglou and he feels that the Australian needs to show more faith in his abilities.

He said toTipsbladet: “Of course, I’m not happy with what’s going on at the club. It’s not a secret, but it’s not something I make a fuss about either.

“I can put my head on the pillow knowing that I’m giving it my all to show the coach that he should believe in me. This is not the case at the moment, and it’s the coach who has to explain why.”

The 28-year-old midfielder has started just six games in the Premier league. This season and a player of his quality deserves to play more often. He is at the peak of his powers right now and it remains to be seen whether he can force his way into the starting lineup in the remaining weeks of the season.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with the move away from Tottenham and it is fair to assume that he will move on in the summer if the situation does not improve.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg does not fit the Tottenham style anymore

Postecoglou has implemented a free-flowing attacking brand of football since taking over at the North London club, and it appears that the Denmark international does not suit his style of play. Tottenham have been linked with a number of central midfielders in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see if they decide to bring in a quality replacement for Hojbjerg at the end of the season.

Spurs need to sign a creative midfielder who will not only control games, but he will also add creativity and drive to the midfield. Players like Conor Gallagher and Ederson Dos Santos are some of the names linked with the club in recent months.
