Barcelona great Andres Iniesta is sorry Lionel Messi isn't returning to the Blaugrana.

Messi has chosen to join Inter Miami over returning to Barca after coming off contract at PSG.

Iniesta said: "It would have been nice, special for what it means, but in the end everyone looks at the best option, which he feels can go well and, from there, surely he lives a different experience than what he has lived before.

"If it is what he was excited about and what he wanted, he will surely do well, as he did well in all the places where he has been."

Meanwhile, Iniesta says he's watching Pedri's progress at Barca.

He added: "He has a lot of importance in the game and, surely, that evolution that he has had during this time he continues to maintain it. He is in the best team to continue growing and I am convinced that he will have a great season again."
