Inter Miami fullback Jordi Alba has announced his international retirement.

Former Barcelona defender Alba retires from the Spanish national team after almost 12 years as an international and 93 games and 10 goals with the senior team.

He communicated his decision to Spain coach Luis de la Fuente when leaving Barcelona and sign for Inter Miami.

He also participated in the 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups and in the 2016 and 2021 Euros, in addition to playing the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
