Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that every player’s contribution holds the same weight as a superstar like Lautaro Martinez.

Speaking at the Enzo Bearzot Awards, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri coach also spoke about the team’s ambition to kill off the Serie A title race.

It’s been a long season in which many Inter players have shone.

Perhaps none moreso than the team’s captain, Martinez.

The 26-year-old inherited the armband during last summer after Samir Handanovic left. And this has spurred him to his best season yet in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Martinez has scored 23 goals in Serie A over the campaign so far – and 26 across all competitions.

But Martinez has not done it alone.

Moreover, when the Argentine has been unavailable or not at his best, Inter have still gotten the results they’ve needed.

This is a testament to a team that is far stronger than just one or two star players.

Inzaghi: Every Inter Player’s Contribution Worth As Much As Lautaro

Inzaghi gave his thoughts on this stage of the season as Inter approach the point where they can finally clinch the Serie A title.

“We’re close to the finish line,” the Inter coach said.

“We want to cross it as soon as possible.”

“The important thing is what comes next for us. There are six matches and eighteen points left to go.”

“We have a fourteen-point lead in the table and we have to try and achieve our goal as soon as possible,” Inzaghi said.

“I have a great squad at my disposal.”

“I have 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers in the squad. I wouldn’t want to have to give anyone up.”

“Of course, Lautaro Martinez has given me a lot,” Inzaghi said.

“But even the player with the fewest minutes has still given me a great contribution, because they’ve always given everything in training.”

“Even that player’s contribution is worth the same as that of Lautaro,” Inzaghi mused.
