Simone Inzaghi has made two key demands clear if he is to sign a contract extension as Inter Milan coach.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giornale, via FCInter1908, report that the 48-year-old wants more recognition for his staff, and clear guarantees about the squad for next season.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi looks to be set to sign a contract extension until the end of June 2027.

The 48-year-old former Lazio coach is currently under contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of June 2025.

But rather than offering Inzaghi a new one-year deal as in the last two years, Inter are ready to offer their coach a two-year extension.

Reports suggest that the negotiations are entirely straightforward. Inzaghi is keen to stay, and will sign an extension.

That is what the 48-year-old all but confirmed in comments he made yesterday.

However, Il Giornale report, there are two key demands that Inzaghi will want addressed before the negotiations can be wrapped up.

Simone Inzaghi Makes Two Key Demands To Extend Inter Contract

Firstly, Il Giornale report, Inzaghi expects improved treatment of his coaching staff.

The 48-year-old has a core of trusted staff members who he has worked with for several years and considers essential to his work.

And Inzaghi felt that the staff were not treated entirely fairly during last spring’s downturn in form.

Therefore, the coach wants to address that in the remaining negotiations.

Then, there is the matter of the squad.

Inzaghi wants absolute certainty that Inter will not sell a player like Lautaro Martinez or Nicolo Barella this summer.

When the coach first arrived in 2021, he knew that Inter would be selling one big name player. Achraf Hakimi left for Paris Saint-Germain in a big money move.

But then Romelu Lukaku followed the Moroccan out the exit door, joining Chelsea. Inzaghi was hardly expecting that, having planned around having the Belgian in the squad.

Inzaghi does not want any similar surprises this summer.
