Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi showed that he knows which starting eleven he can get a tune out of with his selection decisions in the derby against AC Milan yesterday evening.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who argue that the coach showed that he can rely on players who give him certainty all over the pitch with his lineup to face the Rossoneri in yesterday’s 1-0 win.

Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi went with what has become his first-choice back three of Milan Skriniar, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni to get a clean sheet against Milan.

In midfield, the trio of Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Nicolo Barella proved as sturdy and reliable as it has all season for the coach.

And in attack, Lautaro Martinez set the tone for the entire performance, something that the coach has come to trust the Argentine to do.

What was clear from Inter’s performance, La Repubblica argues, is that Inzaghi knows what he can expect from this Nerazzurri team when he sticks with the player who he feels can guarantee him a performance.
