Inter Milan Could Integrate Argentina Starlet Into First Team Next Season – Plus One More Signing

Inter Milan could decide to integrate attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni back into the first team for next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908.

Inter are starting to think about what their attack will look like next season.

Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will certainly be a huge part of it, barring any surprise transfers this coming summer.

And there will also be striker Mehdi Taremi. The 31-year-old Iranian international will join on a free transfer from Porto.

But there is a lot of uncertainty beyond that.

The futures of former Premier League veterans Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic are very much up in the air.

The former is out of contract at the end of June. Therefore, if Inter don’t offer Sanchez a new deal, the Chilean will be on his way at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the latter’s deal runs until the end of June 2025.

But Inter could very well decide to try and offload Arnautovic in the summer after one season at the club. The Austrian is currently out with his second major muscle injury of the campaign.

There is a strong sense that Inter will want five forwards in the squad next season.

With four senior forwards in the team this campaign, there have already been a few occasions on which Inter’s squad has been stretched thin in that department.

Particularly when one striker is out injured, as Arnautovic currently is, then it can leave the team light on options.

And there will be the expanded Champions League and Club World Cup formats to think about next season as well, adding to the fixture congestion.

As such, the Nerazzurri could aim for more numbers and versatility in attack.

And a signing is very much possible. Inter are looking at the possibility of signing s top young forward from within Serie A.

Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee and Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson are high on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist in this respect.

But another solution would be found closer to home.
