Inter Milan are determined to sign Athletico Paranaense and Brazil goalkeeper Bento during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that the Nerazzurri’s decisive push could come in May.

The Gazzetta report that goal is a position in which Inter have decided to make a signing this summer.

Currently, Yann Sommer is the clear Number One between the posts for Inter.

The Swiss international veteran joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich last summer.

Meanwhile, Emil Audero is Sommer’s deputy. The 27-year-old arrived from Sampdoria on loan last summer.

Inter have a purchase option to sign Audero on a permanent basis.

The Nerazzurri can pay Sampdoria €7 million to sign the Italian this summer.

However, the Gazzetta report, while Inter are more than happy with how Audero has done as a backup keeper, they consider the size of that fee to be too high for a player who does not start regularly.

Inter Determined To Sign Brazil & Paranaense Keeper Bento

According to the Gazzetta, Inter are fully committed to signing a player who can replace Sommer in the long term.

Audero is not the right keeper for that plan, in the view of the Nerazzurri.

Rather, Inter see Brazilian international Bento as the perfect long-term successor to Sommer.

At 24 years of age, Bento should certainly have at least a decade of high-level football in front of him.

Therefore, Inter want to sign the Brazilian this summer. He can be the backup to Sommer for a season or two, and then take over the starting spot eventually.

Inter are prepared to invest, moreover, reports the Gazzetta.

The Nerazzurri know that Paranaense will demand at least €20 million for a player who has become a full Brazilian international in 2024.

But Inter feel that they can make the deal happen, particularly if they bring in some cash from sales.

The Gazzetta report that Inter want to beat out the competition to sign Bento. For that reason, they could make their move as early as next month.
