Legendary Inter Milan and Italy striker Alessandro Altobelli feels the imminent arrivals of Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski illustrate the management’s impressive work on the market.
While it’s not official quite yet, the Nerazzurri have secured the services of the Porto striker and Napoli midfielder for next season.
The players are currently running on expiring contracts. They will be joining Simone Inzaghi’s ranks in July after completing free transfers.
For Altobelli, these moves depict the solid work conducted by Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio.
The 1982 World Cup winner praises the Nerazzurri officials for their brilliant work. He notes how they have been able to pull off great deals despite the lack of financial resources.
“Once again, the Nerazzurri management has proven to be up to the task,” said the Inter legend in his interview with L’Interista via TMW.
“The directors worked well in advance to bring home two excellent players on a free transfer.
“Marotta and Ausilio know that they don’t have major financial resources at their disposal.
“Nevertheless, they know exactly what to do in order to strengthen the squad despite the lack of funds.”

Marotta had already built a reputation for his ability to poach great coups on free transfers while at Juventus.
He signed the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba and Sami Khedira all for free during his time in Turin.
The 66-year-old continued the trend after his move to Inter in 2018. He snapped up the services of Hakan Calhanoglu, Marcus Thuram and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for free, and they all became pillars for Nerazzurri.
