Wingback Carlos Augusto is happy to have made the switch to Inter Milan from Monza.

Speaing to InterTV, via FCInterNews, the Brazilian also named legendary former Nerazzurri, Real Madrid, and Brazil left-back Roberto Carlos as a key inspiration for him.

It’s official – Carlos Augusto will be an Inter player next season.

Today, the Nerazzurri confirmed that the 24-year-old has made the move from Monza.

Augusto arrives to replace former Atalanta man Robin Gosens, who is headed to Union Berlin.

The Brazilian will both back up Federico Dimarco at Inter, and hope to provide some real competition for the Italian international down the Nerazzurri’s left flank.

For his part, Augusto is pleased to have made the move.

The Brazilian has earned a strong reputation by helping Monza to reach promotion to Serie A, then excelling in his first season in the top flight. Last season, he scored six goals and assisted five for the Brianzoli in the league.

Carlos Augusto Happy With Move To Inter Milan

“I’m very happy to be here,” Augusto said after making his move.

“This is a top team,” he continued. “I’m very happy that I’ll be playing at San Siro, and eager to help my new teammates.”

“There’s nothing else to say, I can’t wait to get started.”

Of what he expects on his new adventure, Augusto said that “I’m ambitious. I know I had a great season last time around, and I hope to do even better here with my new teammates.”

“My hope is to get even more goals and assists,” the Brazilian added.

Augusto stressed that “I’m a humble player. I want to work for the team.”

“I’m Brazilian, but I enjoy putting in a lot of running. My goal is always to help my teammates and the team as a whole play well.”

Of linking up with Davide Frattesi, with whom he played at Monza for a season, Augusto said that “He’s helped me a lot. I’m looking forward to being here with him here as well, I hope we can do well together again.”

Of Brazilian former Inter players he admires, Augusto noted that “Everyone knows Ronaldo and Adriano well. But Roberto Carlos played here in my position.”

“I took a lot of inspiration from his style of play, he was a phenomenon,” the 24-year-old said of the legendary former left-back.

“It will be difficult to reach his level, but I want to do well.”
