Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez has reportedly decided to leave the club at the end of the season, putting Inter Milan and others on alert.

The 34-year-old is a versatile defender who rose through Los Blancos’ youth ranks. He became a member of the first team in 2012, and has been serving the cause ever since.

According to Marca via FcInterNews, the Spaniard has finally decided to leave the nest in favor of a new experience.

The veteran has reportedly informed the management of his intention to leave. The Spanish capital side is thus seeking a replacement with Lille teenager Leny Yoro emerging as the early favorite.

As for Nacho, he has been linked with Inter in the past, particularly last season before eventually option to renew his contract with Real.

Nevertheless, the Spain international has reportedly made a different choice this time around.

Moreover, the defender doesn’t intend to represent another Spanish club due to his affiliation with Madrid. Instead, he’ll opt for an experience abroad.

Therefore, Inter could stand a genuine chance at securing his services on a free transfer.

This season, Nacho has been a staple at the back for Los Merengues amidst the injury crisis that depleted Carlo Ancelotti’s defense.
