Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is the club’s sole representative in the Best XI lineup from Serie A Matchday 32.

The Nerazzurri hosted Cagliari at San Siro on Sunday night. But while Simone Inzaghi’s men were the heavy favorites to prevail, they remained true to the Italian weekend’s theme which ended with seven draws. This is without counting the encounter between Udinese and Roma which was interrupted at 1-1 following Evan Ndicka’s health scare.

Inter took the lead through Marcus Thuram in the first half, but Eldor Shomurodov equalized for the Isolani.

Calhanoglu then kept his perfect spot-kick intact with another ice-cold finish to restore the hosts’ lead. Yet, Nicolas Viola came off the bench to rescue a valuable point for Claudio Ranieri’s side.

But despite the draw, Calhanoglu still managed to impress with another masterclass display in the middle of the park.

The Turkiye international joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2021 as a free agent after seeing out his deal with AC Milan. This turned out to be a masterstroke on Inter’s part. So in the aftermath of the weekend, Lega Serie A picked Calhanoglu in the Best XI lineup of Round 32. This is according to FcInter1908.

Hakan Calhanoglu Shines For Inter Milan Vs Cagliari

The 30-year-old joins Atalanta midfielder Ederson in the double pivot of a 3-4-3 formation. The Brazilian was also on target in La Dea’s 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona.

Nevertheless, Gianluca Scamacca was the ultimate star of the show in that fixture with a brilliant goal and assist. Therefore, the Italy striker gets the nod up front.

He joins Tijjani Noslin who also delivered the goods in the same encounter, but for the opposite side. Frosinone striker Walid Cheddira leads the line after scoring a brace against his parent club Napoli at the Maradona Stadium, as well as his teammate Nadir Zortea who delivered a sublime assist for the second goal.

The fantasy lineup also features two defenders from the Derby della Mole which ended in a stalemate. They are Juventus stalwart Gleison Bremer and Torino’s own Alessandro Buongiorno. The latter has recently emerged as a transfer target for Inter among other clubs.

Serie A Round 32 Best XI (3-4-3): Di Gregorio (Monza),Buongiorno (Torino), Bremer (Juventus), Zortea (Frosinone); Felipe Anderson (Lazio), Calhanoglu (Inter), Ederson (Atalanta), Gudmundsson (Genoa); Noslin (Verona), Cheddira (Frosinone), Scamacca (Atalanta).
