Nerazzurri Vice-President Javier Zanetti feels that 2023 was a great year both for Inter Milan and for himself personally.

Zanetti spoke to Argentine broadcaster Telam, via FCInter1908, to wrap up the year.

This year, Zanetti turned fifty.

The Argentine, former Inter captain and one of the club’s greatest ever players, retired from playing nearly a decade ago.

And he has been in his current role for roughly the same amount of time.

And the role of Vice-Presidenet is one that Zanetti has become increasingly comfortable in.

The former defender needed to grow into a role behind the scenes. But now, he has become a key part of the machinery at the club, just as he had been when he was a player.

Zanetti has been Vice-President as Inter have won the Serie A title already. And this year, he saw the Nerazzurri just narrowly miss out on the Champions League final.

And over the second half of 2023, Inter have enjoyed a very positive start to the league season.

The Nerazzurri are currently four points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

After a hectic, up-and-down year, the Nereazzurri look to have a promising 2024 ahead of them. As does Zanetti.

Javier Zanetti: Positive 2023, For Inter & Personally

Zanetti said that “The truth is that it’s been a very positive year for me.”

“I turned fifty,” the Argentine noted. “And when I look back on the journey that it’s already been, it’s a great one.”

Zanetti then noted that “I’ll return to Italy for Inter’s first match of the year. Against Verona on January 6th.”

“And then there will be the party for my foundation,” he added.

Zanetti is currently enjoying his Christmas holiday in his home country of Argentina.

He then joked that “In the meantime, I’ll learn to play paddleball.”
