Inter wingback Robin Gosens feels that his form keeps getting better and better with each passing match.

Speaking to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 win over Atalanta in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals, via FCInterNews, the 28-year-old noted that he is starting to feel more and more like his old self, and expressed excitement ahead of the Milan derby against AC Milan on Sunday.

Gosens got what has become a relatively rare start for him against his old side Atalanta yesterday evening, and the German put in a solid performance up and down the left flank to help Inter to reach the semifinals of the Coppa Italia.

When Gosens arrived from La Dea twelve months ago, there were high expectations around him given his performance levels whilst in Bergamo.

However, the form that the 28-year-old has shown at Inter has been far from consistent, with injuries and fitness particularly causing him to lose some consistency and match rhythm.

However, for his part, Gosens is happy to be showing more and more of his best in a Nerazzurri shirt.

“I’m happy to have repaid the coach’s trust,” he said, “my form is getting better and better and I’m showing my quality in every training session.”

Of the win over Atalanta, the German said that “We played a good match against a tough opponent who are in great form.”

And looking ahead to the Milan derby on Sunday, Gosens said that “I can’t wait, it’s a special match.”
