Inter Milan youngster Mattia Zanotti was thrilled with his rare cameo during the 6-0 demolition of Hellas Verona and thanked his teammates for their great support.

The 20-year-old had made his debut this season in the 2-0 win over Lecce last March, but only featured for a minute.

Nonetheless, the right-back had a more significant cameo this time, replacing Denzel Dumfries in the 65th minute.

The youngster reveals that he remained serene after entering the pitch, partially thanks to the encouraging words of his senior teammates and their continuous support.

“I entered with a great desire. Everything is easy when you have teammates like these,” said Zanotti in his post-match interview with Inter TV via FcInterNews.

“My teammates help me a lot. They encouraged me on the pitch. They were close to me and I remained calm.

“The coach just gave me some instructions and I entered the pitch. Now I have to prove myself as much as possible and show what I can do.”

The young fullback started his career at Brescia’s youth academy before joining Inter’s ranks in 2017, and has been climbing the ladder ever since.

Zanotti is considered among the club’s most promising youngsters. Although he’s been training with the senior squad this season, he still features for Inter’s U19 squad in the Primavera 1 division.
