Albert Gudmundsson isn’t the only striker Inter are eyeing to shore up the frontline next season, as they have recently been proposed Anthony Martial, who’ll be out of contract in June. The Nerazzurri are more than proficient when it comes to Bosman additions.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the brass is evaluating the Manchester United attacker. He can technically already sign a pre-contract with another team. He hasn’t been consistent or productive in recent campaigns.

Gudmundsson and Martial aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive, but Inter would have room to add a pair only if they sold somebody, on top of not re-upping with Alexis Sanchez. The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Serie A a few times, but it never materialized.

The Nerazzurri liked him in the past. Fenerbahce and at least a couple of Ligue 1 teams are keen. They’ll continue to focus on the Icelandic star first. They need to get to €30M to acquire him. It will take time since they’ll have to build their budget through sales. They are wary that a Premier League side could swoop in at any time, so they are preparing some fallbacks.

Our Take on Inter and Martial

Perhaps they have already decided they’ll keep five strikers next year, or they are certain they’ll find a way to offload Marko Arnautovic. The Genoa ace would be an ideal signing, but pulling it off won’t be easy. It’s more likely they’ll either stand pat or bring in a cheaper option.
