The FIGC Prosecutor’s Office have closed their investigation into Denzel Dumfries after the Inter full back was seen holding up a banner insulting Milan’s Theo Hernandez at the recent Scudetto party.

During the Nerazzurri’s title-winning parade and celebrations on April 28th, which came just days after their decisive Derby della Madonnina win over the Rossoneri, the 28-year-old Dutchman gleefully held aloft a banner showing him holding his Milan counterpart on a leash like a dog.

The incident immediately caused controversy with Milan fans and Dumfries apologised the following day, calling it an ‘error of judgement’, but regardless an investigation was opened by the FIGC Prosecutor’s Office.

Dumfries investigation

As detailed by Corriere dello Sport, FIGC prosecutor Giuseppe Chine has completed his investigation into Dumfries’ controversial celebration at Inter’s Scudetto party, offering him a plea bargain that’ll see him handed a fine, but avoid a suspension. This is expected to be accepted.

Theo Hernandez kept quiet about the incident and still hasn’t referenced the act over a month later, closing the door on the situation.
