In the history of tennis, Novak Djokovic has broken many milestones and created history numerous times. Staying in top form mostly, the Serbian has always been the one to beat in tennis. While his records are praiseworthy, the youngsters use that as a mode of motivation.

Recently, Juan Carlos Ferrero was mic’d up with Clay Tennis , where he spoke about his play with Carlos Alcaraz and his improvement in the sport. The Spaniard has looked up to Djokovic and tries to work towards achieving the goal. The interviewer had asked the coach if this attitude was a bad one or a good one. Neither agreeing to one, the coach expects the result to come in the long run.

Carlos Ferrero said in the interview:

It is neither positive nor negative, they are objectives that he has in the very long term, we know the difficulty that something like that requires. It comes from the character that he has to think very big. Juan Carlos Ferrero said

But can Alcaraz do it? Ferrero believes that his player can do it if he puts his mind to it. Also, the Spanish coach is rather unsure if Alcaraz can achieve it due to the level of competition that is there in the sport.

Juan Carlos Ferrero agrees to be surprised by Carlos Alcaraz and the type of shots he plays in matches

Carlos Alcaraz is one of the most versatile players on the court. Even though his service is not on point, his agility on the court covers up for it.

Ferrero was a player who played in a measured way, a very conventional player who perfected his shots, unlike Alcaraz. The 20-year-old is like a rocket, all over the place, always trying fancy shots, the youngsters get the crowd on his side with his unbelievable shots. Shocked by Alcaraz’s ability, his coach narrated an incident.

Ferrero said, who was very shocked with the skills his player possessed:

The other day I asked him to make me in a training a rest “Chiquita” (a short shot), crossed, as often did Federer. He did it the first time and won the point. Juan Carlos Ferrero said

Furthermore, Ferrero also said that these fancy shots are created by Alcaraz on the spot and executed to perfection when the racquet touches the ball. With the clay season approaching, it is time for the Spaniard to shine with his unbelievable shots. However, some might be concerned for the youngster who is recovering from a small ankle injury that might worsen if he is all around the court.
