Tottenham Hotspur is close to a loan deal that would see them Clément Lenglet. However, one name linked to the north London club is Bayer Leverkusen center-back Piero Hincapié. Following his first season with the German club, the Ecuador international has other teams noticing him.

One of them is Spurs, but despite recent reports suggesting that the 20-year-old is atop manager Antonio Conte’s wish list, he’s not closer to Tottenham, according to reports in Italy.

Calciomercato‘s Daniele Longo reports that Hincapié isn’t close to signing with the Premier League side; furthermore, Serie A clubs AC Milan, AS Roma, and Napoli. Nonetheless, it seems that Bayer Leverkusen wants to sell the defender after the World Cup later this year.

This past season, Hincapié appeared in 33 fixtures for the Bundesliga club, scoring two goals and recording one assist. Furthermore, the defender is under contract until 2026.

Regarding an actual price, it seems as though Bayer Leverkusen is banking on Hincapié having a solid World Cup for Ecuador later this year to boost his value and create a larger market, allowing them to secure a significant fee.
