Sevilla is the latest club to be linked with Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Moura.

Moura’s current contract at Spurs expires at the end of the 2022-23 season, but the North London club has the option to extend his deal by a year.

However, since the arrival of Richarlison and Kulusevski, the player has fallen down the pecking order and is now rumoured to be looking for a move away from Spurs.

The Brazilian has been frequently interviewed by the media in his home country. When asked about the transfer rumours, his comments are usually about returning to a club in Brazil, but later in his career, as the player believes he still has something to offer to European football.

Lucas Moura was asked to comment on rumours linking him to a move to Sevilla in January and the Brazilian was willing to flirt with the idea of a move to Sevilla and, more broadly, a move to La Liga.

He said (via VamosMiSevilla):

“I didn’t know about Sevilla’s interest, but it’s a club that I like and a city that they speak very highly of. Playing in La Liga would be something fantastic for me, because I like it a lot.”

If Sevilla makes a move, it’s almost certain that they’ll be looking for a loan, whereas Tottenham would likely prefer to part ways permanently, given the player’s contract expires in 2024.
