Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was given an advice by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson but Mourinho refused it.

Sir Alex suggested a player that Mourinho should sign at Old Trafford but the Portuguese did not act on it.

The advice was pretty simple; Buy Dele Alli.

Mourinho did not sign the English star for the Red Devils but he later became the Tottenham manager and managed Dele Alli.

In a clip from Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ series, Mourinho can be seen complaining to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy about Alli.

“I told already Dele very directly that he doesn’t train well, he is not a good trainer,” he said.

“I am not saying a disaster, but I am not saying Harry Kane. Harry Kane is a very good trainer.”

Mourinho added: “Sir Alex Ferguson gave me only one bit of advice in two and a half years: Buy Dele Alli. ‘That guy, with that mentality, the way he plays, the aggression he has in mind. This guy is the Manchester United player. Buy Dele Alli’.

“And he [Ferguson] has an eye for a player. But he [Alli] is not a good trainer, we need to find motivation for the guy.”

Alli burst onto the scene after his impressive performances in League One for MK Dons. He enjoyed individual success in the early part of his Spurs career before experiencing a professional downfall.

The former England international has since joined Everton and have had a loan spell in Turkey at Besiktas, but he has failed to make an impact at either club.
