Tottenham Hotspur are actively preparing for the upcoming transfer window, with a keen eye on potential new additions to bolster their squad.

One player high on their radar is Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

Spurs have identified Eze as a prime target for the summer window, with manager Ange Postecoglou eager to bring the Englishman to North London.

The club has wasted no time in initiating efforts to pursue Eze and secure his signature.

In a recent development, Times journalist Tom Allnutt revealed that Eze and his entourage were granted an entire box at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during last Saturday’s London derby between Spurs and Palace.

Despite Eze’s impressive performance, including a stunning free-kick goal for Palace, Spurs staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 3-1 victory.

Following the match, several Tottenham players, including Son, Oliver Skipp, and Brandon Austin, were observed engaging in friendly banter with Eze, further fueling speculation of a potential move to Tottenham.

Allnutt’s insights shed light on the unusual gesture of providing a box exclusively for Eze, his family, and agents by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Speaking on The Tottenham Way podcast, Allnutt speculated on the significance of this gesture, suggesting it could indicate Tottenham’s efforts to woo Eze and his representatives.

He said:

“It was interesting to me that Eze and his entourage had basically a full box to themselves at Tottenham. I don’t know if that’s entirely normal for an opposition player to have a whole suite of their friends and family and presumably, a couple of agents.

“I know Eze belongs to Base who are an agency very connected with Spurs. But I did wonder if there was a bit of wooing going on there. I wonder if they gave Eze and his pack a very nice day out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me contemplating.”

Eze, 25, has been a standout performer for Palace, featuring prominently in the Premier League last season with 10 goals and 4 assists in 38 appearances.

Despite facing injury setbacks this season, he has continued to make a significant impact, registering six goals and an assist in 18 appearances.

The 25-year-old has 45 goals and 27 assists in 247 appearances across his senior career.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Tottenham’s pursuit of Eze and whether they can successfully lure the talented midfielder to Hotspur Way.
