Luka Jovic has continued his very curious run of being useful from the bench, cut seemingly ineffective on the rare occasions where he starts a match for AC Milan.

As pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are two sides to Jovic’s game and it is something he needs to address if he is to have a long-term future at the club.

Jovic started the most recent match at home against Empoli and it was a golden opportunity for him to show what he can do, but he did not get a single shot on target in the 73 minutes that he played, before being replaced by Olivier Giroud.

He has started six games for Milan in Serie A this season, getting a goal and an assist against Frosinone. In the other five, he has not made an impact, which is a serious concern. The games were against the aforementioned Frosinone, and then Genoa, Udinese, Fiorentina, Monza and Empoli.

From the bench, though, he has done exactly what Milan signed him to do. He has four goals from the bench, one every 18 minutes.

Whilst that is to be praised, it may not be enough to secure a new deal with Milan for next season or beyond.
