Juventus have given reassuring injury updates on Manuel Locatelli and Alex Sandro, but they remain in doubt for the clash with Roma.

The pair went off during the 2-1 Serie A victory away to Frosinone yesterday afternoon.

Locatelli, who had already suffered a microfracture to his rib last month that ruled him out of international duty, was again left with pain in the ribcage following a collision.

However, tests excluded fractures and showed only heavy bruising to the internal oblique muscle on the right side of his torso.

As for Alex Sandro, although he managed to avoid any lesions to the muscle, he was diagnosed with a strain of the femoral bicep.

Their conditions will be evaluated on a daily basis.

This means both Alex Sandro and Locatelli remain major doubts for the Serie A match against Roma, which is scheduled for Saturday December 30 at 19.45 GMT at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Moise Kean and Mattia De Sciglio are already ruled out of that fixture.
