Juventus didn’t replace Angel Di Maria last summer, but they haven’t abandoned the idea of adding a pacey attacker to their squad and are tracking Georgiy Sudakov. They pursued Domenico Berardi last summer, although not with a lot of conviction, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The 21-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk product has been part of the first team since January 2021. He has racked up 12 goals and 12 assists in 73 appearances. He has nine caps with Ukraine.

Juventus reportedly scouted Sudakov in person a few times already, especially in Champions League fixtures. He’s one of the top names on their list should they make an addition.

The Old Lady hasn’t completely given up the chase for Berardi, who’s off to a great start despite the summer saga. However, because of his age, they’d purchase him in the winter only if Sassuolo settled for a lot less than what they have been asking so far. Instead, a splash is significantly more likely next June.

Our Take on Juventus and Sudakov

They currently don’t have a real backup for Federico Chiesa, plus a small tweak to 3-4-3 is right there for when they want to be more offensive-minded. They could certainly use more speed. Spending for a youngster with great potential would align with their MO. On the other hand, it’s very expensive to shop from Shakhtar Donetsks, and a few European powerhouses would be in the race too.
