Juventus lost an arbitration case against their ex-star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, so they officially owe the Portuguese forward nearly €10m plus interest.

Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has won an arbitration case against his former club Juventus. As reported by Sport Mediaset, an arbitration tribunal ruled on Wednesday that the Bianconeri now owe their former striker €9.7m plus interest.

Ronaldo had begun a legal battle with his former club over €19.5m in outstanding wages resulting from two salary maneuvres completed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Juventus had made private agreements with Ronaldo and other footballers, postponing the payment of their salaries, but the club failed to inform the FIGC or report the maneuvres on their financial statements.

The arbitration tribunal, however, has ruled that Ronaldo and Juventus share responsibility, so the Bianconeri will pay only half of the outstanding €19.5m salary, plus interest.

Ronaldo left Juventus in 2021 after a three-year spell in Turin, during which he scored 101 goals in 134 matches.
