Juventus have begun cashing in on their talents by agreeing to sell Kaio Jorge to Cruzeiro. The Brazilian side has already announced the deal. Only the physical tests and other technicalities are missing before it formally goes through.

According to Tuttomercatoweb’s Mirko Di Natale, the Bianconeri will pocket €7M plus 30 percent of a future sale. Five percent of the sum will go to Santos as per the terms of his previous transfer.

Kaio Jorge leaves Juventus to join Cruzeiro after failing to impress during his stint in Serie A primarily due to a massive knee injury. A patellar tendon tear sidelined him for more than a year, considering the time he needed to round back into shape.

In the end, he made just 13 appearances with Juventus, 2 of which with the U-23 squad, scoring once. He spent the past campaign on loan at Frosinone, hitting the net 3 times in 22 games. He showed promise at times, but Walid Cheddira ultimately outplayed him.

Considering the amortization, the Old Lady will register a small ‘plusvalenza’ since they had acquired him from Santos for an equivalent figure in 2021.

Our Take on Kaio Jorge, Juventus, and Cruzeiro

He had been signed a while back, so the current management wasn’t particularly invested in him. Since he’s 22, they were at the point where they either had to keep him in their squad or sell him outright and opted for the second route. He displayed glimpses of talent but isn’t clutch. He surely seemed more suited to play as a second striker than as a no.9, a role that Thiago Motta doesn’t use.
