The race to land Kaio Jorge is entering the decisive phase and AC Milan are right at the heart of it, according to a report.

The latest from TMW stated that after the meetings with Napoli, who however have disappeared from the race after they have been unable to sell Andrea Petagna, Milan are trying to find an agreement with Santos. The Brazilian club was €7m to sell Jorge a few months before his contract expires in December of this year, but the Rossoneri want a further discount.

The 19-year-old for his part would like to find a solution now, because he does not want to leave Santos on a free transfer after he came through the academy there. Within Brazil he is regarded as one of the potential candidates to become the future centre-forward of the Seleçao, and other Italian clubs are aware of his potential.

They could try their luck with a last minute attempt, and while the commissions that his entourage want (€10m) are problematic, they are not expected to but the deal in jeopardy.
