Daichi Kamada is expected to leave Lazio in the summer and Napoli have set their sights on the Japanese midfielder.

The 27-year-old struggled to find his footing under Maurizio Sarri during his first half-season in the Italian capital and is now on track to leave when his contract expires in June, seemingly deciding not to active the two-year extension option.

Everything could change under new coach Igor Tudor, but for now Kamada has not enjoyed his time with Lazio, seeing just 1124 minutes of action across 28 total appearances with the club, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), both Napoli and Atalanta are interested in snapping up Kamada on a free transfer in the summer, although they’ll have to fight off competition from his former club Eintracht Frankfurt as well.

The Partenopei have opened exploratory talks, keen to understand the margins of a possible deal at the end of the season.
