Erik ten Hag has named his team selection for this afternoon’s 3.30pm clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Manchester United host their fierce rivals for the second time in just three weeks, and all Reds will be keeping their fingers crossed that today’s game has the same outcome as March’s triumph.

In terms of the manager’s options, he is, of course, without numerous key, sidelined players, including Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial and Tyrell Malacia. As well as that, Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans were both substituted with injuries during the midweek Chelsea defeat, leaving only Harry Maguire and Willy Kambwala as the senior centre-back options.

Elsewhere, Marcus Rashford returns to the starting 11 after being rested in favour of Antony on Thursday. He, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund form Ten Hag’s chosen front three, with Bruno Fernandes taking his usual place behind the forwards.

Scintillating starlet Kobbie Mainoo retains his place, this time alongside Casemiro in the middle of the park. The Brazilian was also withdrawn with a fitness complaint at Stamford Bridge but has been cleared to feature this afternoon, while Scott McTominay is absent from the matchday squad entirely.

Academy left-back Harry Amass, 17, is on the bench for the first time to provide depth in the backline if required. He has taken part in first-team training this week and is evidently rated highly by the manager, considering that he’s been called upon in such a high-stakes fixture.
