Kwon Hyeok-kyu will be out for the remainder of the season. The South Korean midfielder was absent for the game between St Mirren and Rangers this afternoon.

As reported by BBC Scotland, Stephen Robinson confirmed the 23-year-old is out for the rest of the campaign with a hamstring injury.

“Unfortunately, we’ve lost Kwon for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.”

The defensive midfielder has impressed in his time with the Saints. However, he will be hoping that he can get his fitness back up ahead of pre-season, where he will look to impress Brendan.

Robinson will likely want to see if he can bring the player back to the club for next season. This would probably tie in with Celtic’s plans for the 2024/25 season as Brendan is said to be in the market for a new midfielder to play in the deeper role.

Kwon’s compatriots Oh and Yang appear to be moving out of the first team picture at Celtic Park. Oh has not been included in matchday squads for some weeks while Yang has struggled when he has been giving outings.
