Kylian Mbappe had one of the worst games of his career on Wednesday night.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker failed to convert a penalty kick in the eighth minute of his team's Ligue 1 match at Montpellier.

Mbappe's spot-kick was saved by Benjamin Lecomte but a VAR review concluded that the goalkeeper had come off his line so a retake was ordered.

Lecomte then saved Mbappe's second penalty attempt too by tipping the ball onto the post.

The ball rebounded back into Mbappe's path, only for him to send an awkward volley over the crossbar from six yards.

Mbappe's night got even worse when he sustained a suspected hamstring injury and was forced off after just 22 minutes.
