La Liga President Javier Tebas is allegedly at risk of being suspended by the Sports Administrative Court (TAD) following a legal complaint by Real Madrid, according to the latest in the Spanish capital.

According to Relevo, Tebas will be suspended in his role as a precautionary measure by TAD either tomorrow, or in the duration of the next week – the highest adminstrative body in Spain. This comes after Interim RFEF President was also suspended by the same body for improper practice as part of an interim board.

Tebas’ issues, they say at the Bernabeu, are down to the complaint that Real Madrid submitted regarding the CVC deal, which saw 38 of the 42 La Liga sides sign a deal to sell 10%  of their TV rights over the coming 50 years. Los Blancos have alleged that the process to call the assembly and vote through the deal was not carried out properly, and as such Tebas should be suspended, ‘shortly’ according to the report.

The Head of La Liga recently complained that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez had too much power, as evidenced by the presence of many politicians in his Director’s Box at the Santiago Bernabeu. La Liga have also won a number of legal cases regarding Real Madrid’s complaints about the access of TV operators and the CVC deal, but those close to the capital club feel Tebas will face an imminent suspension.

In the background of this is the power struggle for Spanish football, with Tebas frequently providing a strong opposition to the Superleague and Real Madrid complaints about referees, the former being Perez’s number one priority. So far no other outlets have confirmed this news, and La Liga are yet to comment at the time of writing.
