Former France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has signed for Los Angeles FC.

The 37-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract for the full duration of the 2024 Major League Soccer season, while LAFC said in a statement on Saturday that there are also "options for 2025 and 2026".

Lloris will leave Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days after more than 11 years with the London club.

He is expected to say goodbye to Spurs fans at a brief farewell ceremony at half-time during Sunday's Premier League game against Bournemouth.

Lloris has not played for Spurs since featuring in a 6-1 defeat at Newcastle in April.

However, he recorded 127 clean sheets during a 361-game Premier League career.

Lloris captained Spurs between August 2015 and August 2023, when he was replaced in the role by Son Heung-min.

A montage of the keeper's highlights in a Spurs shirt were posted on the club's social media channels on Saturday.

They were captioned with the words: "A Tottenham Hotspur legend".

Lloris has been capped 145 times at senior international level - more times than any other male player in the history of the French national team.

He captained France to glory at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia before also skippering the side that won the UEFA Nations League Finals in 2021.

Lloris retired from international soccer at the start of 2023.
