Chelsea need to sell a lot of players this summer, and judging by the way the rumour mill is working, we think Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be the first out of the door.

AC Milan are closing in, and today notorious transfer insider Fabrizio Romano Tweeted an update on the progress of the deal.

He sad it was “close” to a done deal, with talking “ongoing to reach full agreement on fee.”

Both Chelsea and Milan are said to be “hopeful and optimistic.”

Well that sounds good. Hopefully their recent run in the Champions League has them feeling flush and ready to buy Chelsea stars.

We’d still rather see Ruben stick around, but the excesses of last summer have to be paid for ultimately. It’s also exciting to see how the silky academy lad can do out in Serie A with hopefully more consistent starts in central midfield. He might just tear it up out there.
