Lazio have officially confirmed that goalkeeper Ivan Provedel has signed a new contract with the club, running until the summer of 2027.

The 29-year-old shot stopper moved to the Stadio Olimpico from Spezia in the summer of 2022, and has impressed with his performances for the Biancocelesti.

During his first season, the 2022-23 campaign, Provedel kept more clean sheets than any other ‘keeper in Serie A, helping Lazio to a second-place finish in the league. He was named as the Serie A MVP Goalkeeper at the end of that campaign.

Provedel also made international headlines at the beginning of the 2023-24 season when he provided a 95th minute equaliser from a corner for Lazio against Atletico Madrid in their Champions League opener in September.

Provedel had already signed a long-term contract with Lazio at the time of his move from Lazio, understood to be until 2027 as well. The new contract is instead believed to include an adjustment of salary and other terms.

According to reports at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, Provedel had been earning around €1.2m per season, which is likely to have increased with his new deal.
