Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has a positive history against Inter and he’ll be looking to continue this trend next weekend.

As collected by stats portal Transfermarkt, the 62-year-old Italian coach has faced the Nerazzurri 11 times throughout his career, winning five of those matches, drawing three and losing the other three.

Sarri’s first meeting with Inter came in the 2014/15 season whilst he was at Empoli. The game was a relatively muted affair and ended 0-0. The second meeting that season saw the Tuscan coach lose 4-3 to the Nerazzurri in Milan.

The following season, Sarri’s Napoli faced Inter three times, coming out on top at home 2-1 in the first meeting of the campaign.

The second match between the two came in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, with the Nerazzurri securing a 2-0 win, the same scoreline as the final match between Inter and Napoli that season.

That 2-0 loss in April 2016 was the last time that Sarri lost to Inter, meaning that he has remained unbeaten in their last six meetings.

The 2016/17 season saw Napoli win both matches against Inter, 3-0 and 1-0. The following campaign was significantly more muted, with both matches in the 2017/18 season ending 0-0.

Finally in the 2019/20 season, Sarri’s Juventus beat Antonio Conte’s Inter 2-1 and 2-0, giving hope to Lazio fans that the 62-year-old Italian coach will continue this trend next weekend.
