Lazio director Angelo Fabiani denied the club’s reported interest in Inter forward Alexis Sanchez and confirmed the position of Valentin Castellanos.

Reports from Argentina suggested that the Biancocelesti had sent in an offer to the 35-year-old Chilean forward ahead of his contract’s expiration with the Nerazzurri at the end of June. He has also been linked with a move to River Plate.

In the meantime, Valentin Castellanos has continued to shine under new coach Igor Tudor and many Lazio fans are calling for him to replace Ciro Immobile in the starting line-up moving forward. The Biancocelesti captain has been rumoured to be on the way out in the summer.

Speaking to Il Messaggero (via TMW), Fabiani first discussed Lazio’s confidence in Castellanos.

We’re betting everything on Taty for next year, beyond any opportunities that arise in attack.

He was asked about the alleged interest in Alexis Sanchez, who will leave Inter on a free transfer at the end of June.

Our policy is clear and consistent, we will not sign players over 30.

Finally, Fabiani spoke about any interested in Fiorentina’s Rolando Mandragora and Union Berlin’s Robin Gosens.

I repeat, there are no ongoing negotiations and therefore nothing different on the market at the moment. We remain focused on the current season.
