Lazio are deep in negotiations with Hellas Verona for talented pair Ivan Ilic and Nicolo Casale.

The Biancocelesti have been keeping a close eye on the Gialloblu duo for months now and now are keen to pick up both as they overhaul their squad, looking to satisfy coach Maurizio Sarri. Lazio have a great relationship with Hellas Verona and talks between the clubs this summer were no secret.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), talks between Lazio and Hellas Verona over Ilic and Casale are progressing well. Maurizio Sarri is hoping to have the Gialloblu pair available in time for the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.

The total amount requested by Verona is around €28 million – €10 million for Casale and €18 million for Ilic. The Roman club are hoping to lower the sum a little by signing either of the two on a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached or by inserting some players in exchange, like Raul Moro or Sofian Kiyine.

Both players would likely become key figures in Sarri’s new-look Lazio side. The team have been in desperate need of rejuvenation for a while now and the new contract signed by the Italian coach suggests that concrete plans are in place to carry it out.
