Lazio are anxious after Danilo Cataldi was forced to leave the San Siro on crutches following his injury in their loss to Inter.

The 28-year-old Italian midfielder was taken off the pitch in the 50th minute of the match after suffering an injury to his right calf, looking pained as he came off. The Biancocelesti went on to concede three goals and lose 3-1 after his substitution.

Cataldi has grown into an important part of Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio squad, playing as the anchor in the midfield three. He has seen 2534 minutes of action across 38 games in all competitions this season.

As highlighted by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Cataldi left the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on crutches yesterday and his condition has left Lazio concerned.

He will undergo a round of medical tests in the coming days to evaluate the issue, but initial fears suggest that he may be sidelined for a couple of weeks, which could see him miss the games against Sassuolo, Milan and Lecce.
