Lazio is well expected to go out and acquire a starting left-back over the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Biancocelesti is now in the rumor mill with yet another left-back as the Italian-based outlet TuttoMercatoWeb notes that club officials are interested in signing soon-to-be former Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt.

Lazio has already reached out to Van Annholt’s representatives to establish preliminary contacts about signing the defender to a free transfer deal.

The Biancocelesti is well set on hauling in the Dutch talent, who will become a free agent on June 30.

Van Annholt has spent the past five seasons with Crystal Palace, where he emerged as the team’s perennial starting left-back.

Lazio has also been linked with the likes of Benfica left-back Nuno Tavares, so it remains to be seen whether club officials plan to sign the Portuguese talent or will opt to pursue Van Annholt to a multi-year free transfer agreement.

For now, Van Annholt is currently focused on helping the Netherlands national team pull off a deep run in the Euro 2020 tournament.
