Lazio will have to do without star goalkeeper Ivan Provedel for their coming Coppa Italia quarter-final derby with Roma.

The 29-year-old Italian shot stopper quickly proved himself to be one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A after joining the Biancocelesti from Spezia in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth just €2.5m, a clear bargain in hindsight.

Lazio are gearing up for a tense Derby della Capitale with rivals Roma, playing for a spot in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they’d face the winner of Juventus-Frosinone.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Lazio cannot count on Provedel for their coming clash with Roma as the goalkeeper is dealing with a fever and other flu symptoms, ruling him out of the match. Luigi Sepe will be tasked with taking over for the cup derby.

Mattia Zaccagni and Gustav Isaksen are both available for the Biancocelesti, but are not at their best, whilst Luis Alberto could feature after his recent injuries. Ciro Immobile will not take part in the clash.
