Maurizio Sarri has contacted Nemanja Matic over a possible move to Lazio in the summer.
The 33-year-old Serbian midfielder will be leaving Manchester United on a free transfer next month, a year ahead of his contract expiry. He is clearly unable to keep up with the intense pressure of the Premier League now and a move abroad now seems fairly certain.
As reported by CalciomercatoTV (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio have discussed the possibility of move with Matic recently and he is open to the idea. The Roman club will now have to devise a convincing offer, but they’ll be facing competition from both Juventus and Roma, who have also made an approach.
The 33-year-old Matic has made 32 appearances across all competitions this season for Manchester United, for a total of 1666 minutes. In that time, he’s provided four assists and put in a number of decent performances as a defensive midfielder.
