Ciro Immobile has progressively lost prominence this season, and new Lazio coach Igor Tudor gave Taty Castellanos the nod over him in his debut versus Juventus. The Biancocelesti are ready to move on but are wary it may not happen in the summer, Corriere dello Sport informed (via Mediaset).

Unless he gets an offer from Saudi Arabia, it’ll be challenging for the striker to find a team willing to match his current wages. He makes €5M and is under contract with the capital club until 2026. He’s unlikely to depart unless a suitor comes close.

Immobile has been tepidly linked to Inter in recent weeks, given his bond with former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi. However, the Nerazzurri prefer a different type of attacker.

Tudor backed him in his opening pressers. The veteran is still in the running to make Italy’s squad for the Euro, although he has three or four men ahead of him. He has scored 10 goals this season, almost half of which in the Champions League, while just 6 in 26 Serie A appearances. He hasn’t hit the net in seven consecutive fixtures.

Our Take on Lazio and Immobile

Unfortunately, that’s the risk of being overly loyal, and his agent outworked the management in his previous renewal. A break-up last summer or in January would have made everybody relatively happy as the signs of decline were already there in the past season. Instead, it’ll get messy, and they’ll have to be lucky to find a way out.
