Lazio reportedly received a last-minute approach from Real Betis for Matias Vecino, which they instantly rebuffed.

The Biancocelesti closed out the summer transfer window with eight new signings – Valentin Castellanos, Gustav Isaksen, Daichi Kamada, Nicolo Rovella, Luca Pellegrini, Christos Mandas, Luigi Sepe and Matteo Guendouzi.

In the outgoing market, Lazio found new homes for various players including Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Gonzalo Escalante, Luis Maximiano and Matteo Cancellieri.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Real Betis approached Lazio on transfer deadline day to explore a last-minute move for Vecino, an idea that was instantly turned down in Rome.

The Biancocelesti consider the 32-year-old Uruguayan to be an important part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad, especially considering the new look to the midfield following the transfer window.

Last season, Vecino saw 2283 minutes of action across 44 total appearances for Lazio, playing an important role in Sarri’s project. He has already appeared in the first two games of the season against Lecce and Genoa.
