Ciro Immobile again broke records after winning his fourth Capocannoniere title this season.

The 32-year-old Italian striker netted 27 goals in 31 Serie A appearances this season, outscoring second place Dusan Vlahovic. It was an incredible campaign by Immobile, who didn’t seem to suffer following the massive tactical shift brought on by the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last summer.

Further writing his name into history, Immobile became the first Italian player to win four Capocannoniere titles, winning more times than legends like Giuseppe Meazza, Gigi Riva and Michel Platini. He now sits second in the all-time rankings, one title behind Swedish striker Gunnar Nordahl.

Immobile has now won three Capocannoniere title with Lazio, matching the number set by fan favourite Beppe Signori, who won three times whilst in Rome in the early 1990s.

The 32-year-old Italian striker is already Lazio’s all-time top scorer, having netted 182 goals for the club, and he sits 13th in the Serie A all-time top scorers rankings, one goal behind Gabriel Batistuta.
