Lazio forward Luka Romero has been included in The Guardian’s 60 best young talents in world football.

As detailed by British newspaper The Guardian yesterday, the 16-year-old Argentinian midfielder was included in the list of the 60 most exciting up-and-coming talents in world football currently, included alongside other talents like Barcelona’s Gavi and Manchester City’s Roméo Lavia.

Romero signed for Lazio in July of this year from Spanish side RCD Mallorca, in a deal worth around €200 thousand.

The Argentinian teenager became the youngest ever La Liga debutant last campaign and has earnt the nickname ‘baby Messi’ due to his skills on the ball and smooth dribbling.

Romero has already made his Serie A debut for Lazio under coach Maurizio Sarri, playing the final nine minutes in the 6-1 win over Spezia back in August.

The 16-year-old Argentinian forward regularly trains with the Lazio first team and is already forming a strong friendship with Spanish teenager Raul Moro.
