Lazio may look to sign Elseid Hysaj, Jerome Boateng and Nikola Maksimovic should they close out the deal for Maurizio Sarri.

As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla earlier today, the Biancocelesti are serious about hiring the 62-year-old Italian coach and are fully focused on this deal, leaving possible transfer targets in the background for now.

Should the deal for Sarri be closed out, then Lazio would heat up their interest in Hysaj, Boateng and Maksimovic, all of whom will be free agents at the end of next month.

The Roman club are looking to strengthen their defense this summer to shore up the backline, with multiple players like Wesley Hoedt and Matteo Musacchio freeing up space in the squad.

Hysaj’s contract expires with Napoli next month and the 27-year-old Albanian has a history with Sarri stemming from their time together at the Partenopei. Maksimovic also remembers Sarri from their season together in Naples.

Boateng is a top defender who is leaving Bayern Munich after 10 years in Bavaria, and would be a quality addition to the squad.
