Lionel Messi unhappy with Luis Suarez exit to Atletico Madrid

Although Lionel Messi decided to stay with Barcelona despite being unhappy, the Argentinian star still is trashing the club. Barca decided to oust one of Messi's closest friends, Luis Suarez, from the club, and he's not happy about it.

Suarez had said he'd take a bench role to remain at Camp Nou this season, but eventually agreed to leave when it became clear that Ronald Koeman had no plans of using him. It was announced Wednesday that Suarez had been transferred to Atletico Madrid, and Messi wished him good luck in an Instagram post while also slamming Barcelona for letting him go.

Messi's comments only provide further evidence that his relationship with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu continues to deteriorate. The 33-year-old decided to remain with Barcelona, but only because he didn't want to take the club to court.

Along with Suarez, Barcelona has parted ways with some of Messi's other close friends in the past, including Arturo Vidal and Neymar. Neymar, who now is with Paris Saint-Germain, commented on Messi's post saying: "It's unbelievable how they do things."

Messi's contract with Barcelona expires following the 2020-21 season, and it appears like he'll be moving on from the club at that point. However, Bartomeu has offered Messi a new deal through 2023, and will likely continue to try to re-sign him. With grievances still being shown, there isn't confidence that Barca will retain him.
